Visitors could be dangerous, says Afridi
Mercurial Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi on Saturday described the visiting Bangladesh team “a dangerous opponent.”
“Bangladesh are a very good side and any kind of complacency against them could be dangerous,” Afridi told reporters after the unveiling ceremony of his cricket coaching programme with the Customs Cricket Academy here at the Karachi Gymkhana.
He said Bangladesh are a very talented one-day side and are developing into a strong unit.
“Look at their past track record. They have beaten teams like world champions Australia along with other fancied teams,” he said.
Afridi said it would have been better had Australia visited Pakistan.
Commenting on the ongoing controversy involving fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar and Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf, in which the former has been slapped with a five-year ban, Afridi said it (the matter) should finish as soon as possible.
