Chris Cairns, the former New Zealand all-rounder, is set to return to the big stage after being named in MCC’s match against Europe this Thursday (tomorrow) here at Lord’s. And entry is free.
Darren Bicknell, the former Notts player, is also in the line-up to take on a strong Europe side for the 50-over match. Coloured clothing will be worn and a white ball used for the game which begins at 11.30am (BST). The match will be a return fixture after last year’s successful experiment in Rotterdam, a five-wicket win for MCC.
MCC squad: Darren Bicknell, Aakash Chopra, Toby Bailey, Hitesh Modi, Chris Cairns, John Stephenson, Rob Turner (captain, wicket-keeper), James Hamblin, Hamid Hassan, Paul Hutchison, Guy Bulpitt.
