Weeping Asif

The plight of Pakistani cricket is not much different from the pace bowler Mohammad Asif, who shone early in his career, flew in skies and became arrogant and rude…and is now is back, down on the earth, pleading with the Pakistani Cricket Board for mercy.

He has also apologised to the nation for his conduct. Mohammad Asif broke down in tears during a television interview and apologised to the nation for his repeated disciplinary breaches this year. Asif said, “I have committed mistake after mistake and for that I apologise to the nation. I have disregarded the green Pakistan blazer but I promise that if I get the next chance I will be a totally changed player.”

Mohammad Asif tested positive for nandrolone during the inaugural IPL season in April-May this year. His B sample also tested positive. The first hearing, conducted in October, failed to start after Asif’s lawyer Shahid Karim challenged the jurisdiction of the tribunal.

PCB should help Asif, as there is always another chance.
