As the kickoff of twenty20 comes near, euphoria becomes more crazy. The usual claims of winning the first event of its kind can be heard from every nook.

Daniel Vettori says that Kiwis are the most formidable contestants for this time of twenty20 world cup, though he also considers Australia as the most favourite after them. After taking charge from Stephen Fleming, Daniel is trying to imbue a new kind of electricity in the team. He really considers Australia an ideal team, but says that New Zealand is not far behind and contains all the flair and spark needed for this agile format of the game. Vettori thinks that though he himself has only played only single game of twenty20, but he has a firm belief upon his team mates, who have considerable experience of twenty20 after playing county cricket in the England.

Cricket Australia’a head James Sutherland believes that Australia will also be the victor of twenty20 world cup and will carry on its champion streak. Though the status of Ricky Ponting, Shane Watson and Stuart Clarke is suspicious as whether they would play in the tournament on not, Sutherland still is more than sure that Aussies would snatch it with ease, like this did it in the Carribbean earlier this year. Cricket Australia is counting much upon the leadership and flair of Adam Gilchrist, who will head the team in the tournament.

On the other side, the host coach Mickey Arthur hasn’t got a single doubt about the victory of his team South Africa. He is repeating time and again that Graeme Smith is surefire to get win in his home, and he will write a new history along with his mercurial team. Though history tells us something else. It goes without saying that SA is one of the leading team in the world cricket and has got many brilliant players and they are the one who recently snatched the number one title from the Aussies, but they are yet to win any mega title, and this is a very unique and nice chance for them to compensate this.

Sharadpowar, the head of BCCI, of India is also very hopeful about the prospects of his team in the forthcoming twenty20 cup. Though, all the efforts of BCCI are currently focussed upon curbing the rebel ICL league, they are hopeful that team India would perform best in the twenty20 and then BCCI would start twenty20 games in India to puncture the ICL balloon.

Ramnaresh Sarwan of West Indies isn’t much hopeful, but nonetheless thinks that they can do the upset any time. Sarwan says that he isnt really discouraged by the impression that Windies are one of the minnows and there is every chance that they would get a lifetime beating from the other biggies. He says that he knows the strength and weaknesses of his team and would surprise everyone.

Pakistani board’s head Dr. Nasim Ashraf is as usual very hopeful about the chances of his team and he says that his team and shake the world because they have big hitters, and fast bowlers, though their fielding is quite dismal. Sri Lanka, England are also counting upon their young players who have got every thing to snatch the title from anyone.

Game is On.
