Woolmer’s Death Probe Starts Again

In the morning of 18th March, 2007 during the otherwise bland Cricket World Cup in West Indies, when the maid Robinson of Hotel Pegasus found Pakistani cricket coach Bob Woolmer dead in his hotel room, and went out screaming, the whole world of cricket was terrified and suspicious at once. It was a field day for the media, and especially Indian media exploited the situation very badly. The moment, they got a sniff of the death of Bob Woolmer, they started fabricating conspiracy stories, which were mainly targeted at defaming Pakistani cricketers, who were already gloomy over their defeat by the hands of minnows Ireland.

Indian media was crazier due to an Indian doctor Nathanial, who was the first paramedic to reach the death scene. He in the light of his “immense” knowledge and “vast” experience on the spot declared that Bob was murdered by the method of “strangulation”, and he was also poisoned. He also told media in a royal fashion, how he thought Bob Woolmer was murdered. It was enough for Indian media, which made the story, that Bob was murdered cold-bloodedly, and he knew the murderers, and they were more than one, and one was tall and fat (just like Inzamam-ul-Haq, the Pakistani skipper at that time), and blah blah blah.

It all was more than disturbing and painful for the Pakistani team and for the family of deceased. Pakistani team was already hurt due to their ignominious defeat by the Irish team, and then the allegations of murder upon some of them really made them a psycho. It was also rumored that Bob had links with the match fixers and with the gambling mafia, and Bob was about to spy upon them, and they killed him, before he could open his mouth. It is all bullshit propagated by the indifferent Indian media.

Now after some months the investigation has been started once again on an advanced level, but there is a very little chance of anything coming out that could be worth-mentioning. It’s little more than mere eyewash. The inquiry committee, which also include some experienced investigators is once again interviewing the hotel staff, Indian doctor and is likely to meet with Pakistani players.
