Yasir Arafat Penalized
Now after Mohammad Asif and Shoaib Akhtar, Yasir Arafat has “brightened” the name of Pakistan. He has done it with a style and now the English media is swinging his name everywhere, and terming it yet another breach of code of conduct, and they are now advising Pakistan Cricket Board to adopt some measures for the education of their players. Though Yasir Arafat is not representing Pakistan right now in England, where is basically playing the county cricket, but English media has to have some pretext in such matters.
Yasir Arafat was reported by umpires George Sharp and Neil Mallender for a Level Two breach of the code (bowling an accidental high full pitched delivery that resulted in the bowler being disallowed from bowling further in the innings) in Kent’s Twenty20 match against Essex on June 18.
The accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two-year period will result in an automatic suspension. Any further Level One breach during that period will result in an automatic imposition of three penalty points.
Yasir Arafat found himself more in the hot waters, when he tried to argue with the officials, and the officials complained to the county management, which is now considering a stern action against the test all rounder from Pakistan.
