Zaheer, Sreesanth pull out of camp
Pace spearheads Zaheer Khan and S Sreesanth have pulled out of the Indian cricket board’s (BCCI) bowlers fitness training camp to be held at Mysore (Karnataka) from June 4 to 8 prior to the tour of Ireland and England.
“As both Zaheer and Sreesanth have been picked to represent the Asia Eleven in the Afro-Asia Cup at Bangalore, which has been postponed by five days, they will not be attending the camp,” a BCCI official said.
In all 14 bowlers were to attend the five-day camp under the guidance of Indian bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad after 19-year-old leg spinner Piyush Chawla and rookie medium pacer Yo Mahesh were exempted from attending the camp as they were to train at the Australian Cricket Academy from June two on a scholarship.
The bowlers who have been invited to attend the camp are: Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Ramesh Powar, Rajesh Pawar, Rudra Pratap Singh, V R V Singh, Ishant Sharma, Munaf Patel, Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar and two rookie bowlers Ranadeb Bose of Bengal and Pragyan Oza of Hyderabad.
